Re: Yes, it is 1 am. Sleep-deprived is the BEST state for thinking, yo.
Sorry about the breathing thing! Coming off a really nasty cold myself, so I totally sympathize on the recalcitrant lungs front. ^_^;;;
I figure Moon is about on the intelligence level you'd get if you averaged the triplets -- it's a Sephiroth clone of questionable success (the lab techs got enough right to get a Sephiroth-transformation state, but not enough right to be able to un- transform and have, say, legs and the ability to pass for human in public).
And I haven't entirely decided what was up with its voice; when I coaxed it into making sounds in my head, it kept coming up with kind of a falcon-cry with purr-growl vibrato in it. But I suspect the labs did some deliberate damage to its vocal cords -- that way they wouldn't have to listen to their victims 'screaming'... @_@
I think they all got taught to read before the experiments started, since if they had a success they'd want it to be educated enough to be able to come up to basic function-speed in the army in months rather than years, and armies are all about paperwork. But once it became obvious that Moon wasn't going to be one of the more human experiment-results, they quit bothering to educate it and kept it mostly for, er, 'stress testing' and the like. Hence the state it was in when it got out.
...yeah, I always go into background details on things like this, don't I? *facepalm* Even when I'm trying my darnedest to write PWP, the P still crops up on both ends of the equation anyhow. XD
