The woes of a cat that owns a costuming-type person Poor kitty's been miserable all weekend. First I go behind the Horrible Door of People Eating, and then some horrible monster makes growling noises for Hours and Hours. And I only come back out for food and I don't stay out nearly long enough so he's got to cuddle me whenever he gets the chance because the growling sewing-machine monster could come and get HIM next, and then it would be All Over.
So THEN I go and make rustly noises with pieces of paper that bounce and curl up -- and I won't even let him play with them! And I go and put him down the basement while I play with the rustly paper and the clawable fabric all by myself! And I don't let him out until I'm done and have put all the toys away, no matter how much he cries at the door!
I'm clearly a cat abuser and should be reported to the SPCA...
In other news, I wonder if the local power company might actually have adapted me to deal with borderline hypothermia after all. My power bills were around $150-$200 a month all winter long, even when I kept the thermostat dialed down to 60. At first I was really damn cold all the time and wearing double sweaters and sitting on my hands to keep them warm. But I got used to it.
And now that the sun's warmed it up to 72 in here, I feel almost feverish, and have just turned on my ceiling fan. @__@
I'm so sorry, but it's likely to be May or June before I get any ficwriting time back. The great evil for which I am costuming is going to take every free moment between now and May 10, and I'm just praying we can get it all done in time for ACen's anniversary. Oh yeah and work's decided to give me three projects at once, too -- one of them delayed since last summer but suddenly now urgent. Wheeee...
(Ciceqi, I feel horrible about it, but I suspect I may be giving you your Christmas and birthday fics as more like half-birthday fics six months off from the real deal... @___@)
ETA: You know that thing about how owners and pets start to resemble each other? I can't look much like my cat, given that I don't have any intentions of dyeing my red hair black or getting glowing yellow contacts or anything like that -- but I think my cat and I may have the same allergies. He got out the back door when I was taking out the trash, and ran snuffling around for a bit, and by the time I caught him to bring him back inside, he was sneezing. (And still is.) And the grass growing season has just kicked into high gear in this part of the country... poor kitty.
