Why I haven't written anything for Naruto since the moron attack
In response to an anonymous post from the Final Fantasy index:
Yes, there's a reason I haven't written anything for Naruto in months, both Side Effects and any of the stories I'd started to get an escape from people harassing me about Side Effects. It's because I just finally had enough. Not of the story, but of the demanding fanbrats. Asuka posted something of the sort today about the Gundam Wing fandom too, and I didn't start writing then because I was catching it over lunch hour and I didn't know if I was going to STOP ranting. ^^;; There seems to be a rash of them at the moment.
Ever since I got this review, I haven't even started anything new Naruto-related because it's pretty hard to get together enthusiasm for a fandom where people demand entertainment on their schedule without compensation and insult your intelligence when you don't fulfill their every need. It's certainly not the only review of the sort that I've gotten, just the one that broke the camel's back.
Writing Final Fantasy instead is my easiest way to still be creating something but not have to face the hair-tearing frustration of dealing with an ongoing string of reviews like that.
Basically, I finished the Chofic I'd had partially written for Kitty and walked away. I'm not going to look at any of them again until I want to, until I can look at any kind of Narutofic without seething. I don't know how long that's going to take, and I'm not going to try to estimate, because it's STILL getting my blood pressure up just thinking about it.
